
Julie Blunden
Obvious ChampionJulie Blunden is the former COO of Plus Power, CCO of EVgo and held leadership roles at SunPower, Green Mountain Energy, Sunedison, and ClimateWorks Foundation.
Ms. Blunden has been a Board member and executive for disruptive energy companies and not-for-profits for more than 35 years. Her expertise is commercializing and growing companies that reshape energy markets. Most recently, Blunden helped lead Plus Power from a small utility-scale energy storage developer to an operating independent power producer with 9 plants and more than $2 billion of project and tax equity financing. Previously, Ms. Blunden worked with companies at the leading edge of the solar industry, retail and wholesale energy markets, EV charging and battery technology. Her deep knowledge of how policy can enable (or destroy) opportunities for change in energy markets, how great communications enable investors, customers, suppliers and policy makers to embrace new technology, and how markets learn from history and accelerate scale and cost reduction drive her view of market strategy and corporate development. Ms. Blunden has served on more than a dozen corporate, not-for-profit, and advisory boards and currently serves on the Board of Directors of Nextracker (NASDAQ: NXT) and ZincFive. A native Ohioan, Ms. Blunden earned her MBA at the Stanford Graduate School of Business, majored in Engineering modified with Environmental Studies at Dartmouth College, and was awarded the Founders' Award at AES.
